GUNS/SECOND AMENDMENT: B
The latest statistic shows that there are more than 300 million legal guns in America, the highest rate of gun ownership in the world — by far. Lawful gun owners commit less than a fifth of all gun crimes. Many crimes are actually deterred by guns that are legally owned. In fact 98% of all mass shootings in America happen in "gun free zones" where there are no armed, trained secuity officers to deter the shooting. The Second Amendment (Amendment II) to the United States Constitution protects the right of the people to keep and bear arms and was adopted on December 15, 1791, as part of the first ten amendments contained in the Bill of Rights.
2/28/17: President Trump signed a repeal of Barack Obama’s Social Security gun control law. The Obama administration said the rule required the Social Security Administration (SSA) to submit records of "mentally disabled people" to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System. Why does President Trump get a B for this move? Well the problem with Obama's law was that it would cover those who are unable to manage their own affairs for a multitude of reasons — from “subnormal intelligence or mental illness” to “incompetency,” an unspecified “condition,” or “disease”, potentially banning older people who live on Social Security from owning a gun just because they can’t handle their own financial affairs. The beneficiaries who catch the SSA’s attention — by just having someone help with finances — could have found themselves the subject of an SSA attempt to determine mental health status. So the ban was not just for "mentally disabled people".
8/22/17: President Trump's U.S. Department of Justice officially ended "Operation Choke Point", the Obama-era effort to cut off access to banking services a long list of lawful and unfailry targeted legitmate businesses including gun dealers and makers of small loans.
